Woman’s gym shorts raise eyebrows as unfortunate design makes her look completely ‘naked’

The woman could be seen wearing a pair of the popular ruched gym shorts from Australian fitness brand Etch in a stunning new colour – but they’re definitely not for the faint hearted

A gym-goer turned heads on Instagram after posting a mirror selfie wearing a pair of Lycra gym shorts that made her look “naked”.

The woman was wearing a pair of the ‘ Force Scrunch Shorts ‘ from Australian active wear brand Etch, which are priced at £29.

The skintight shorts have a tight waistband and a ruched detail on the top of the backside, which according to the website give the wearer a “stylish silhouette”.

There are 15 different colours to choose from like navy blue, khaki and pink as well as a selection of neutral shades.

But as the woman had chosen a shade that matched the colour of her skin perfectly, she looked like she was in the nude.

An Australian model took to Instagram to share a mirror selfie posing in the flesh-coloured shorts, and it didn’t take long for her followers to point out the blunder, news.com.au reports.

One said: “I had to take a second glance.”

Another wrote: “Honestly thought you were naked for a second.”

And she’s not the only one to be caught out by the risque option, as other woman posed in the shorts.

One woman from the US turned heads after taking a snap wearing the shorts in the “Cedar” shade, while another had a similar effect in the “Taupe” pair.

Etch also sell full-length leggings and a matching sports bra to complete the ensemble in the same flesh-coloured shades.

And this isn’t the first time the shorts have caused a stir.

This comes after fitness fan Gabi Goddard revealed she was asked to leave her gym in Hornsby for wearing a pair of the grey Echt shorts during her workout.

When a member of staff approached her and asked whether she was wearing a G-string she was confused.

It was only later when she realised her shorts were inside out, and the ruched design on the back of the shorts made it look as if she was wearing her underwear on top of her shorts.

Gabi claims that she was asked to change her outfit after a school teacher complained that her students could see ‘so much skin’.

However, Gabi explained that due to her heavy weightlifting exercises, it’s necessary for her to wear stretchy clothes, and that she was horrified that the teacher was perpetuating that “we live in a world where 14-year-old boys are given priority over women.”
